Dirty Pirate Hookers: Game 2 Summary
Dirty Pirate Hookers: 10
Shamrock Roofing/Siding: 11
5/9, Fri @ Ridge Field #2
The Dirty Pirate Hookers were flat for their second game and lost a tough one Friday night 11-10. John C started for the DPH and quickly worked around an early error while dominating the Roofers through the first 2 innings. 3 errors in the 3rd and another in the 4th doomed the Hookers allowing the Roofers to score 8 runs, 4 of which were earned. The errors were compounded by a lack of offense on the part of the Pirates through the first 4 innings when they scored only 3 runs. The Pirates managed to tighten their defense for the remainder of the game and allowed only 3 more runs the rest of the way. Despite an 8-3 deficit, the Hookers refused to succumb and made a late innings 7 run charge. The Roofers, however, scored just enough to maintain a tie until they could pull the game out in the bottom of the 7th.
During his post game interview, John C had this to say about the game: "We didn't deserve to win...you play defense like that and you should lose. Honestly, even with the errors we had a chance to win it and a big part of the blame is on me...against that team we should score more than 10 runs. My 0-3 with an embarrassing K really hurt us. Despite the loss I was proud of the team for the late run. We never gave up. As the manager that's all you can ask. As the pitcher...well, I suppose you could ask for better defense... Right now, we just need to go out, have fun, and kick someone's ass..."
The Hookers play another tough team this Tuesday, 5/13, 6:00P, Firemen's Field: DPH @ Poppy's Place
