The Dirty Buc Ho's won their season opener in typical fashion led by dominant pitching and timely, explosive hitting. The Midnight Cowboys were never given a chance as the Buc Ho's received a dominant start by Mark E and stifling relief by ace closer Ben Ho. Mark E scattered 6 hits over 4 innings while giving up 2 runs and Ben Ho gave up 1 hit over 3 innings while striking out 3. Two Cowboys choked on jerky as they were caught looking at strike 3. "I was just pitching to the strike zone...I noticed it was elevated. I worked in my floater and kept them from sitting on the knuckler. I was surprised with the 3 K's..." said Ben Ho. When asked for his thoughts, John C added "Great pitching from the get go...our offense needed the help...it was flat all game."
Although the offense was flat, Ben Ho, Kim F, and Mark M provided more than enough to bolster the staunch pitching to lift the Buc Ho's over the Cowboys. Mark M had a huge day going 3-3 with a 2B, 3B, HR and 5 RBI. The resurgent Deryl B also added another perfect day at the plate with a 1B and a 2B. "A couple big players had off days...once they get going we'll be fine..." added John C. If he's right, the Buc Ho's will be a Sunday League juggernaut once again.
