Dirty Pirate Hookers: Game 10 Summary

Dirty Pirate Hookers: Game 10

DPH: 32
Dueling Dragons: 3

8/7/09, Friday, 9:00 PM @ Field of Dreams

The Pirates keel haul the doomed invaders.

Apparently, one loss against a lesser opponent was more than enough for the Hookers. In stark contrast to their previous effort, the Pirates could do almost no wrong against the Dueling Dragons. Dominant pitching, crisp defense, and a ridiculously proliferate offense defined this effort. In fact, the 32 runs the Pirate cannoneers bombed on the Dragons are the most runs produced by any "C" offense this season.; the 29 run margin is the second largest. The Hooker offense used 33 hits to reach base a whopping 77% of their plate appearances and collectively slugged nearly one base per at bat. The offensive numbers even overwhelm their slugging orgy against Glenmont Beverage. In two games played at Field of Dreams this season, the Hookers scored an absurd 59 runs.

"I wish we had a few of those runs last game..." said manager John C while adding "I really don't like games like this. They can distort perspective a bit...you have to be careful with that...but I was especially proud of the defense tonight..." The Hookers defense was very sharp with the right side of the infield snagging a couple hot grounders and the outfield catching nearly everything hit under the notoriously poor lights.

The Pirates needed to show their was no hangover from their awful drudgery last week and they succeeded in resounding fashion.

The Hookers play another out of division game against the difficult Magic Stick next week at Ridge Field 1.
